On my NaBloPoMo schedule, which I've almost completely ignored so far, Thursdays are set aside for product reviews. Feh. I don't know what I was thinking when I continued that category from last year. Instead I'll talk about books, which more or less fall into the "stuff I like" category.
I've been continuing my habit of buying books by bloggers lately. Here are some good ones:
- The White Trash Mom Handbook: Embrace Your Inner Trailerpark, Forget Perfection, Resist Assimilation into the PTA, Stay Sane, and Keep Your Sense of Humor by Michelle Lamar and Molly Wendland - I'm not a mom, but a lot of this sounded very familiar from when I was a kid. I've passed it along for my sister to enjoy.
- Indexed by Jessica Hagy - Charts and diagrams for everyday life.
- Help Is on the Way: A Collection of Basic Instructions by Scott Meyer - I laughed out loud more than once reading these bizarre comics. I want one of the "Your hide will make a fine poncho" t-shirts.
- Waiter Rant: Thanks for the Tip--Confessions of a Cynical Waiter by Steve Dublanica Aka The Waiter - I just realized that I've had this book from one of my favorite bloggers for more than a month but haven't had a chance to read it yet. It'll move to the next spot in my "to be read" pile as soon as I finish a book I need for a book club next week.
